Cell Organelles Lab slides Flashcards

EM of Cilla
You can see the basal body at 2, which are microtubules arranged as triplets
basal body NUCLEATES the cillia
can tell cillia because it has 9+2 arrangement

These arrows are showing intercellular boarders

Arrow pointing to the nuclus but look athedots you can see the NUCLEOULUS THE DOTS

Lipofucsion
tertiary lyzosomes
its the like pink outside of the nuclus
What is this pointing to and what is the stain used?

This is a muscle cell but pointing to the nucleus
HE- purple blue color

cannot see the nucleous, but you can see HCin center or peripheral clumped and EC unwound

IMPORTANT look at the PA= pars amorpha aka amorphos area which is the DNA which gives rise to the RNA
Identify

Mitochndria
Nucleus
Identify

Mitochondria
nuceus circles inside
Identify
what microscope is used ?

Golgi
know this because with silver always stains BLACK
Light microscope
Identify
what microscope is used ?

Golgi
Electron Microscope
You can tell because look at the vesicles numbered 123 they are from the golgi which gives rise to them from its trans face
Identify
what microscope is used ?

RER to the right and smooth er to the lefts
EM
WHAT STAIN WHAT IS THIS , IS THERE A NUCLEUS ? WHERE IS THIS
ROUNDED GLYCOGEN GRANULES LOCATED IN THE LIVER, HAVE NO MEMBRANE !Non membrane bound inclusion
NUCLEUS VISABLE IN THE CENTER SURROUNDED BY GLYCOGEN GRANULES stained red with Best’s CAMINE STAIN
WHAT IS THIS
WHERE IS IT
WHAT TYPE OF STAIN

GLYCOGEN GRANULES SURROUNDED BY NUCLEUS IN THE LIVER
PAS STAIN -STAINS GYCOGEN BRIGHT PURPLE/PINK
IDENTIFY

LIPID
POINTING TO NUCLEUS
ADIPOCYTES
NOT MEMBRANE BOUND
IDENTIFY A AND B
ACTIN FILAMENTS
BOTH Imunnoflurorescence Microgrph of Cultured FIBROBLAST
A. Stationary fibroblast
B- Migratory Fibroblast - cell is moving so stains darker brighter as it is moving Le, by cell wall condensed
stained with anti-actin antibodies
what phase

METAPHASE

Nuclear membrane has disappeard
prohase
Identify
what type of Microscope?

Light Microscope
Methaphase
Identify
what type of Microscope?

Anaphase
LM
Identify
what type of Microscope?

TeloPhase
Lm
Identify
what type of Microscope?
what is that streak in the center

Anaphase
EM
Microtubules!!!
Identify
what type of Microscope?

Lipids - you can see the cirlces witht he dark perimeter in NOT A MEMBRANE , lipids have no membrade
see RER
