Q

how do you get a DNA fragment for apoptosis? which enzymes and inhibitors are involved

A

caspase destroys ICAD inhibitor>CAD (caspase activated DNA-ase) can cleave DNA

Q

What is the intrinsic pathway/mitochondria?

A

(stim by BH3, inhibited by bcl2)

> cytochrome C>apf1>caspases!

Q

What does IAP do? whats an antagonist that in turn promotes cell death?

A

inhibits apoptisis (IAP duh). SMAC is an an anatagoist so it will promote cell death and cyctochome C release

Q

What does TNF-alpha do?

A

TNF-alpha activates a necrosis pathway mediated by RIP1, RIP3 kinase, and MLKL, which forms pores on cellular membranes.
