Biomass

A device that transforms the energy of motion into an electric current (Pg. 272)
Geothermal Energy
Heat or electrical energy generated from water natural heated by the rock in Earth’s crust (Pg. 275)
Hydroelectric Energy
Electrical energy generated from the energy of flowing water (Pg. 273)
Kilowatt-hour (kW.h)
Unit of measure commonly used to measure electrical energy consumption; one kilowatt-hour is equal to the consumption of on kilowatt in one hour (Pg. 286)
Non-renewable
A resource that cannot be replaced once it is used up (Pg. 269)
Renewable
A resource that can be reused or replaced, such as sunlight or wind (269)
Sustainable Development
Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (Pg. 279)

The production of electrical energy using heat from nuclear relations, usually nuclear fission (Pg. 275)
