ID and clearance lights
Secure, not broken, clean and amber in color
Windshield
Secure, no damage, no obstructions
Wiper arms and blades
Secure, no damage, with proper tension against windshield
Fender mirrors
Secure, no damage
Turn signals/headlights
Secure, not broken, clean, headlights are clear and turn signals are amber in color
Check for leaks
No leaks from engine or transmission
Check all hoses on right and left side
Secure with clamps, no cuts or chaffing and no leaks
Exhaust
Secure, no holes or black soot indicating leaks, check from front to back
Water pump
Secure, no damage, no leaks, belt driven, belt not cut or frayed no more then 3/4 play
Coolant resevoir
Secure, no leaks, check for proper level
Power steering reservoir
Secure, no leaks, check for proper level
Alternator
Secure, no loose or frayed wires, belt driven, belt not cut or frayed and no more then 3/4 play in belt
Oil dipstick
Check level
Power steering pump
Secure, no damage, no leaks and is gear driven
Air compressor
Secure, no damage, no leaks and is gear driven
Steering shaft
Secure, no damage
Steering gear box
Secure, no leaks, check hoses as you would others
Steering linkages
Pittman arm, draglink, upper and lower steering arms, tie rod, all are not loose, worn or bent, secured using castle nuts, bolts, and cotter pins
Spring hangers
U bolts and bushings secure no damage or missing
Leaf springs
Secure, not cracked, broken missing or shifted
Shock absorber
Secure with no leaks
Air hose
Secure, not cut or charged and no damage
Brake chamber
Secure with clamp, no damages or leaks
Push rod and slack adjuster
Secure, no broken, loose or missing parts, no more then 1 in of travel with brakes released
Brake shoes
Secure, not worn dangerously thin and no cracks
Brake drums
No damage and is free of grease and debris
Tire
Inflation, condition, depth no less then 4/32 of an inch
Rim
No cracks or welds
Valve stem
Metal with metal cap
Lug nuts
Secure, none missing, no rust trails indicating loose lug nuts
Hub oil seal
Secure no leaks, check sight glass for proper level
Engine hood
Put engine hood down
Mirrors and brackets
Secure, not cracked or broken
Door
Operates properly, hinges not broken and weather seal is intact
Lights
Check same as other lights and is amber in color
Battery Box and step
Secure, no damage, no debri
Batteries
Secure, no corrosion, and no leaks
Fuel and def tank
Secure no damage, caps are tight, no leaks from tanks or caps
Dot tape
Secure and clean
Air and electric lines
Secure at back of trailer, no cuts leaks or chaffs, not pinched or dragging on any part of the tractor
Cat walk and step
Secure, no damage or debri
Frame and cross members
Not cracked or broken, no drilled holes or illegal welds
Drive shaft and u joints
Secure, not bent, cracked and free of debris
Clearance lights
Check the same way way as other lights, amber in color
Header board
No cuts, holes, or bulges
Glad hands
Secure, no damage, not torn or missing grommets , no leaks
Electric line
Secure to front of trailer
Drive axle brakes
Inspect the stuff as you would previous equipment
Torsion bar
Secure, no damage
Air bags
Secure, no damage, no leaks
Drive tires
Inspect same as fromt tires
Drive tires
No less than 2/32 of an in hand buds rim with no debri and tires shouldn’t be touching
Apron
Secure, no damage
Gap
No gap between the trailer apron and the skid plate
Skid plate
Secure, no damage, properly greased
King pin
Secure, not cracked or bent
Locking jaws
Locked around the shank of the king pin
Release arm
Is in locked position
Platform
Secure no damage
Mounting bolts
Secure none missing
Sliding fifths wheel
Make sure locking pins are fully engaged
Fifth wheel postion
Check that it is positioned properly so that the tractor frame will clear landing gear
Rear of tractor
Lights are red in color and mud flaps are secure not torn or missing. Dot tape is clean and secure
