CDI Flashcards
Basic concept of QA.
Prevention of the occurrence of defects.
3 factors required to achieve QA concept.
Inspection, audits, and monitoring
Purpose/function of a CDI
Inspect all work and comply with required QA inspections
Who are CDI’s responsible to when performing CDI functions?
QAO
What is a receiving and screening inspection?
Ensuring correct part number is recieved, material condition, TD compliance
What is an IP, when and how is it used?
Descriptive process of stating what work has been completed, what work still needs to be completed/utilized when job cannot be completed for whatever reason.
What is a zonal inspection?
Visual inspection of a specific area of an aircraft
What is the purpose of a final inspection?
Ensure work was completed properly, all tools are accounted for, area is FOD free
What type of inspections cannot be performed by CDI’s?
QA required steps
How do you know if a CDQAR is required on a maf?
CDI required block
Where can you find a list of items requiring a QAR signoff?
7.5.1 Inspection requirements, CDI/QAR matricees (ULSS)
How do you know if a maf requires a QAR signature for signoff?
CDI/QAR matricees (ULSS)
Where can you find the ULSS?
JTDI
What is an FCF? How many profiles are there for FCF’s? Who can insoect/signoff FCF required mafs?
Functional check flight
4: 30day no fly/acceptance, dual engine change, flight controls, dual ADIRU change
QAR
Explain proper tool control procedures from start to finish when performing maintenance tasks.
Checks tools before going out, when arriving at plane, check tools after any major maintenance bit prior to closing any panels, check tools when leaving plane, check tools in shop
Explain missing tool control procedures from start to finish.
Notify supervisor/maint control, maint will notify all shops and MO. Mag initiates. Missing tool report initiated. Flight ops stopped. QA conducts investigation. QAO recommendations. MO releases A/C
What is your responsibility as a CDI with respected to FOD prevention?
Accounting for tools and cleaning up of work area when finished.
Explain FOD fastener missing procedures
Maintain a database of missing fasteners to include A/C bonos and modex, location of fastener and MCN/JCN. Whenever a trend is noticed, investigate the cause and provide corrective action recommendations to the program manager.
Besides IETMs, what pub series do we use to identify and correct corrosion discrepancies?
-509 series
Who can initiate corrosion prevention discrepancies?
Pilot, aircrew or maintenance personnel
What is the minimum amount of elapsed maintenance time that should be documented on corrosion MAFs? What publication?
1/2 hour
What is the difference between corrosion prevention and treatment?
Prevention - corrosion is not present
Treatment - corrosion is present
Where can you find a list of maintenance MAF documentation codes?
Appendix E
What is an EOC code, what document has a complete list of P-8A EOC codes?
Equipment operability code, MESM - mission essential subsystem matrix
