CBT Flashcards
engine starting oil press must return to normal in how long
10 min
What runs off AGB
Lubrication system FCU Fuel pump Hydraulic pump air turbine starter alternator governs N1 control IDG
Fuel metered for N1 vs N2 when
Metered to match speed of both engines
N2 for low speed ops
Switches to N1 when engines speed control switches on and N1 is >79%
If engine speed control switches are off. setting high thrust may cause speed to rise rapidly and ITT temps could be exceeded.
What is Req for engine start
10th stage bleed air supply and DC power
engine starter limits ground dry and wet
APU starter

30 on 40 off
IF FMS fails or won’t display thrust limits where may it be entered
EICAS menue page
APR automatic performance reserve
when switch is selected to arm it is active for 5 minutes after takeoff. If one engines thrust is lower than other it will advance the lower engine (min of 2%NG) to match the other engine. N2 to N1 > 79%
APR limitations
Must be used if takeoff performance is depended on APR calculations.
IF caution APR INOP light on must not use
APR must be off when OAT is -18C and <1000ft when engines are 3A1
if abnormal vibration conditions exist what will be displayed
Oil press gauge is replaced with VIB gauge after start
VIB on vibration gauge NO CAUTION MSG
ignition systems
A and B . one used at a time. Both continuous is an option. automatically turns on in stall situations.
Lowest T/O thrust
Min engine A 85%N1. Engine B 83.5%
APU ON IDG 2 ON powering what busses
APU powers
Conditions UTIL buss 1 and 2 load shed when?
APU turned off with only one IDG maybe W on Wheels Flaps greater than 0 Galley Service doors ?
4 Weight on wheels criteria
1 Weight off wheels criteria.
Conditions UTIL buss 1 and 2 load shed when?
APU turned off or something W on Wheels Flaps greater than 0 Galley Service doors ?
Auto Xsfer fail
Indicates a fault (IE short) preventing auto transfer when a GEN fails. This mean the side with the GEN failure will not be powered by the cross side GEN but the UTIL busses still will be load shed. This cannot be undone if the system automatically.
