purpuric rash
A
Bleeding into the skin or mucosa from small vessels produces a purpuric rash, or smaller petechiae
A cardinal sign of a purpuric rash is that it does not blanch on pressure

effects of bone marrow failure
A
anaemia, infections due to neutropenia, bleeding due to thrombocytopenia. May also develop bone pain due to cell expansion in the marrow cavity

DIC
A
Disseminated intravascular coagulopathy - blood clots form throughout the body blocking small blood vessels. Symptoms can include chest pain, SOB, leg pain, dysphonia, problems moving certain parts of the body.
Causes: sepsis, surgery, major trauma, cancer and as a complication of surgery.
