CBG Lessons 1 to 6 Flashcards
The purpose of this deck of cards is to revise all the phrases we have learned in lessons 1 to 6 of Coffee-Break Greek, and to also apply the knowledge gained in some fictitious scenarios. In this deck the following topics are covered. Greetings; Introducing yourself; Introducing your family; Saying where you're from; Describing your family.
Hello. How are you?
(to a friend)
Γειά σου. Τί κάνεις;
Hello. How are you?
(to a group of your friends)
Γειά σας. Τί κάνετε;
You want to greet someone, and it’s 15:30 in the afternoon. You feel it’s too early to be saying καλησπέρα (good evening) so you opt for a general greeting meaning “Rejoice”.
Which is it?
Χαίρετε!
We’ve said that ‘τί κάνεις/κάνετε’ literally means ‘what are you doing’. How can you literally ask ‘How are you’ in Greek?
