what is attenuation
A
attenuation = the amount of x-ray absorbed by the object or reflected away from its primary beam
the higher the attenuation, the lesser the number of xrays reaching the receptor

describe the different field of view size
A
small FOV - localised region approx 5cm or less
medium FOV - image one arch or both dental arches, approx 6-11cm in height
large FOV - scanned area approx 11-24cm in height
