• In the 1935 they had vote on wether to return to Germany.
• The Nazis in the Saar stirred up trouble to ensure that the vote went their way.
• Plebiscite held in Jan 1935 and two judges from Holland and Italy declared it fair.
• Result 90% in favour of joining
