What is a nationalist?
Someone who wants political independence for their country
What is meant by independence?
To rule your own country (e.g. when India achieved independence, it meant Indians - rather than Britons - ruled over India)
What is meant by ‘nationalist sentiment’?
Nationalist feeling (e.g. a widespread feeling amongst the people that they wanted independence)
Why had Serbia grown in size in 1912-13?
It had emerged victorious in the Balkan Wars
What was the Black Hand?
A nationalist Serbian terror group
Who is the most famous member of the Black Hand?
Gavrilo Princip (the man who shot the Archduke)
What was the main aim of the Black Hand group?
To unite Bosnia and Serbia and create a single nation where all Serbs could live
Who was Bosnia ruled by?
Austria-Hungary
When did Austria takeover Bosnia?
In 1908
