Why do alliances cause wars?
Alliances creates tension between non-allies and if one country gets in a war, lots of other countries get involved as well
Define Militarism:
the belief that a country should maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote national interests
Define Imperialism:
a policy of extending a country’s power and influence through colonization, use of military force, or other means
Define Nationalism:
identification with one’s own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations

Sunday 28th of June 1914 by Gavrilo Princip (using a gun) who is part of the black Hand terrorist group
When was the triple alliance formed, why and between what countries?
It was formed in 1882 between Italy, Germany and the Austria-Hungary empire to defend each other and potentially help each other invade countries
When was the triple Entente formed, why and between what countries?
1907
France, Britain, Russia
To surround Germany so that it has to fight a war on two fronts and potentially invade Germany to make sure that it does not invade another country

In 1914, 1 month after the assassination, when Serbia failed to meet the demands of Austria Hungary
