Actions of Glucocorticoids

A
  • inhibit inflammatory response (induce lipoprotein and inhibit IL-2 transcription)
  • DIABETOGENIC - decreases insulin sensitivity, increases hepatic gluconeogenesis and decreases glucose utilisation
  • increases lipolysis and proteolysis
  • enhances vascular responsiveness to catecholamines
  • increases GFR
