The genre of a media text is the type of specialism into which the product fits e.g. •Soap Opera - Eastenders, Hollyoaks •Action Movie - Indiana Jones •Science Fiction - Star Wars

The tone of a media text is the mood or atmosphere
e.g.

•serious

Surrealism, conventionalism etc

A
usually a famous celebrity who is used as a marketable commodity and whose name is used to promote a moive in trailers and posters

film director with a particular and unique style e.g. Quentin Tarantino
