Comprises those messages sent by mobile stations reporting that they are threatened by grave and imminent danger and other messages relative to the immediate assistance required by the mobile station in distress
- Distress Messages (SS)
Comprises those messages concerning the safety of a ship, aircraft or other vehicles, or of some person on board or within sight
- Urgency Messages (DD)
a. movement and control messages
b. messages originated by aircraft operating agency of immediate concern to aircraft in flight or preparing to depart
c. meteorological messages restricted to SIGMET information, special air reports, AIRMET messages, volcanic ash and tropical cyclone advisory information and amended forecast
- Flight Safety Messages (FF)
a. terminal aerodrome forecasts (TAF), area and route forecasts.
b. weather observations and reports like METAR and SPECI
- Meteorological Messages (GG)
a. aircraft load messages required for weight and balance computation
b. changes in aircraft operating schedules.
c. concerning aircraft servicing
d. concerning changes in collective requirements for passengers, crew and cargo covered by deviation from normal operating schedules
e. concerning non-routine landing;
f. concerning pre-flight arrangements for air navigation services and operational servicing for non-scheduled aircraft operations (overflight clearance request);
g. originated by aircraft operating agencies reporting an aircraft arrival or departure.
h. Concerning parts and materials urgently required for the operation of aircraft
- Flight Regularity Messages (GG)
a. concerning NOTAM;
b. concerning SNOWTAM
- Aeronautical Information Service Messages (GG)
a. regarding the operation or maintenance of facilities provided for the safety or regularity of aircraft operations; b. concerning the functioning of aeronautical telecommunication services;
c. exchanged between civil aeronautical authorities relating to aeronautical services
- Aeronautical Administrative Messages (KK)
Originated by aeronautical fixed stations to obtain information or verification concerning other messages which appear to have been transmitted incorrectly by the aeronautical fixed service, confirming channel sequence number, etc
- Service Messages (priority indicator as appropriate)
- Distress messages and traffic including messages relating to distress phase (SS)
- Urgency messages including messages relating to alert phase or uncertainty phase (DD)
- Other messages concerning known or suspected emergencies which do not fall under 1) or 2) and radio communication failure messages (FF or higher as required)
