Assertive
type of illocutionary act in which the speaker seeks to get the listener to do something. Some examples are ordering, recommending, forbidding, warning, advising, and begging
Directive
the intention is to commit the speaker to do something. Some examples are promising, vowing, volunteering, guaranteeing, pledging, and betting.
Commisive
the intention is to express the speaker’s emotional state Some examples are apologizing, thanking, congratulating, condoling, and welcoming.
Expressive
Intention is to bring changes in the state of some entity Some examples are appointing, blessing, baptizing, passing a sentence, and arresting.
