Categorical data-tabular Displays Flashcards
What is frequency distribution?
A frequency distribution is a way of organizing data to show the number of occurrences(frequencies) of each value or group of values within a dataset.
What is a relative frequency distribution?(how it is calculated)
It shows the proportion or percentage of observations in each class, calculated by dividing each class’s frequency by the total number of data points.
What is a percent frequency distribution?(how is it calculated)
It shows the percentage of observations in each class or category of a dataset.its calculated by multiplying the relative frequency by 100.
What is crosstabulation?
Its a method for analyzing the relationship between two categorical variables by displaying their joing frequency distribution in a table.
What is joint frequency?
Joint frequency is the number of times two variables or events occur together in a data set.
