In whose image are we made?
We are made in the image of God.
What else did God make?
God made all things for his glory.
How can you glorify God?
By loving him and doing what he commands.
Why ought you glorify God?
Because he made me and takes care of me.
Is there more than one God?
No. There is only one God.
In how many persons does God exist?
God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Who were our first parents?
Adam and Eve.
Of what were our first parents made?
God made the body of Adam from the ground and formed Eve from the body of Adam.
Where did Adam and Eve live?
They lived in the Garden of Eden.
What were the two special trees in the Garden?
They were the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Which tree should they not eat of?
They should not eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
What is sin?
Sin is when we break the law of God.
What was the sin of our first parents?
They ate the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Who tempted Adam and Eve to sin?
Satan tempted them.
How did sin enter the world?
Sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve.
Does God know all things?
Yes. Nothing can be hidden from God.
What happened to Adam and Eve when they sinned?
They were sent from the Garden to live separately from God.
Where is God?
God is everywhere.
Can you see God?
No. I cannot see God, but he always sees me.
What effect did the sin of Adam and Eve have on all mankind?
We are all born into a state of sin, and we are unable to keep God’s laws.
What is the result of sin?
Sin always brings God’s judgment and separation from hi.
What is the purpose of God’s law?
That we might know the will of God, the sinfulness of our hearts, and our need for a Savior.
What is the promise of God?
God’s promise is that we will have eternal life through our Savior, Christ Jesus.
How did God give us a Savior?
God sent his own Son to earth as a man that he might obey and suffer in our nature.
How did Jesus become a man?
Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
Did Jesus ever commit a sin?
No. He was born without sin and was the spotless Lamb of God.
Can we be with God forever while we are in sin?
No. Sin separates us from God.
What does all sin deserve?
Sin deserves God’s just punishment.
Who died for our sins so we could have eternal life?
Jesus suffered and died to fulfill the law of God and to save us.
Why did Jesus die for our sins?
Because he loved us.
Who then will be saved?
Only those who repent of sin and believe in Christ Jesus.
Can you repent and believe in Christ by your own power?
No. I can do nothing without the help of God’s Holy Spirit.
What happens to righteous men when they die?
The body returns to dust and the soul goes to heaven.
What is heaven?
A glorious and happy place where the righteous shall be forever with God.
Where is Christ now?
In heaven, interceding for sinners.
Will Jesus come again?
Yes. At the last day, Christ will come to judge the world.
