a library catalogue is a complete organized records of all library’s content. in other words it is a list of bibliographic items found in a library.

Online Public Access Catalogue. it is the most modern form of catalogue. One needs a micro-computer with a large memory for it. Bibliographic record of documents are stored in the computer memory disk.

It allows these devices to communicate and share in formation through a system of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.it facilitates various services such as emails, websites, social media, online streaming and other and much more.

explain the LAN Network
A computer network within a small geographic area, such as homes, schools, computer labs., office buildings or group of buildings. The physical structure of this network is composed of workstations and interconnected PCs which are each capable of accessing and sharing data and devices such as printers, scanners, and storage devices, anywhere on the network.
explain the WAN network
A computer network that exists over a large scale geographical area. A WAN connects smaller networks, including LANs and MANs. This ensures that users and computers in one location can communicate with users and computers in another location.
explain the international network
This is a publicly accessible system of networks that connects computers around the world via TCP/IP
define IP address
this a unique number assigned to computer connected to the internet. Every computer that joins the internet is assigned this unique number so to distinguish it from other computers on the same or different network so that messages can be shared between them without getting mixed up
explain URL
the uniform resource locator or URL is the global address of documents on the WWW. It is like classification scheme used in libraries. the scheme allows user to retrieve the documents and also collocate documents that similar subjects. Like the scheme, the URL allows users to retrieve documents stored on the internet. the URL is made of several parts, with each part giving specific info about the location of the document

A software program that allows users to access and display web pages. A web browser basically displays HTML files containing text, images, still and video files etc. in an ordered layout.

the World Wide Web is a collection of hypertext and hyperlinked documents on the internet. it is like a large library, however, documents are scattered on computers connected to the internet. but because of the hyperlink technology, documents when needed appear like they were stored in one central location.

a webpage is a document created using a special software the allows the document to be retrieved or referenced on the internet. the hyperlink or reference could be on the same document or elsewhere, or on another computer in another country and can be accessed through the WWW.

a website is a collection of webpages maintained by an individual or organization. In most cases, a website has a distinct fully qualified domain name, such as www.greenfielduniversity.com.

a home page is the first page that is displayed when you type the domain name of a website in the address bar of your browser and press enter. it is the first page that opens and from the first page, you can use the links provided to other pages of the website.
