A

G/A
- Indicates ground facility fail. LOC and/or GS will have a line through and deviation pointers gone

39
Q

Deviation Callout?

A

Localizer:
- More than 1/2 dot (1 dot on expanded scale)
- More than 1/3 dot (2/3 dot on expanded scale) after “APPROACHING MINIMUM” is called

Glideslope:
- More than 1 dot

40
Q

Explain RWY end lights?

A
  • 900m to go RWY centreline lights go red and white
  • 600m to go RWY edge lights go orange
  • 300m to go RWY centreline lights go red
41
Q

RWY centreline light spacing CAT II? CAT III?

A

CAT II - 15m
CAT III - 7.5m or 15m

42
Q

Max crosswind and when to confirm?

A

RVR less then 1200m = 15kt (2ENG)
10kt (OEI)

  • Must be with value at time of LDG clearance
  • if it exceeds 10kts at LDG clearance, can continue to 500ft and check again.
  • If LDG clearance issued BLW 500ftAFE then wind should be checked at 500ft.
43
Q

What happens at 200ft?

A

NO AUTOLAND and
LAND 2 annunciation inhibited

44
Q

FLARE

A

40-60ft

45
Q

IDLE

A

25-50ft

46
Q

ROLLOUT

A

Weight on wheels

47
Q

1500ft

A

LAND 2 or LAND 3 annunciates

48
Q

How many CL lights do you need to have to know you have the required RVR? CAT II?

A

20
Lights for CAT II Runway are spaced 15m apart so 15 x 20 is 300m

49
Q

What to do if wind is reported greater than 10kt at start of approach?

A
  • Can continue till 500ft and then confirm.
  • Wind has nothing to do with approach ban (only vis)
50
Q

Can you continue approach if past the Approach ban point and the RVR is reported below minima? (50m) on CAT III

A

Yes you can as you are past the approach ban point. If at the AH you deem the aircraft is in a safe position to land using normal manoeuvres. There is no requirement for RVR on taxi but perhaps will need to request a follow me car if the visibility is too low.
