Terry V. Ohio (1968)
allows police officers to interrogate and frisk suspicious individuals without probable cause for an arrest looking for weapons.
other names- Terry frisk, stop n frisk
Pennsylvania v. Mimms
grants officers the ability to order the driver out of the car
Maryland v. Wilson
allows us to remove the passengers out of the car as well.
whren v. united states
declared that any traffic offense committed by a driver was a legitimate legal basis for a stop.
Tennessee v. Garner
if an officer has probable cause to believe the suspect poses an imminent threat of serious bodily harm either to fellow officers or to others, it is not constitutionally unreasonable to prevent escape by using deadly force.
