R v COLLISTER
Intent inferred from the circumstances. The offenders actions or words, before, during and after the event. The surrounding circumstances and the nature of the act itself.
R v TAISALIKA
The nature of the blow and the gash produced point to the necessary intent.
DPP v Smith
Bodily harm needs no explanation and grievous means really serious.
R v Waters
A breaking of the skin evidenced by a flow of flood, internally or externally.
R v RAPANA and Murray
Disfigures covers permanent and temporary damage.
R v Donovan
Bodily harm includes any hurt or injury, must be more than trifling. Does not need to be permanent.

Recklessness is established if the defendant recognized that their actions would being about the prescribed result and/or the circumstances existed and having regard to that risk those actions were unreasonable.
