NAAT
- macrolide antibiotics
what are the complications of chlamydia?
PID
rectal infection
can also cause non-gonococcal urethritis
what are three stages of symptoms in syphilis?
primary - painless sores-chancre
secondary - non-itchy rash - palm/ soles; systemic effects
tertiary - paralysis/ heart attack/ lesions/ blindness
how is syphilis diagnosed and treated?
serology tests
penicillin (alternative: doxycycline)
what are the two types of herpes?
HSV-1 : oral / kissing
HSV-2: sex/ vaginal
what are the symptoms of herpes?
ulcers on genitals/ painful sores/ itching/ systemic effects

swabs/ PCR assays
anti-viral therapy

PID
conjunctivitis

fetal infection
what are the symptoms of warts?
warts on external genitalia/ pain, discomfort & itching
how are warts treated?
vaccinations/ topical cream/ surgery/ cryotherapy (freezing)
