16
Q

BOT differences

A

Requires aircrew to be tally contact captured intended target
Coordinate accuracy or TLE is not as important
Attacks under type 1 control are always BOT attacks
However a BOT attack is not always type 1

17
Q

BOT advantages

A

For moving target scenarios, BOT is much more accurate and timely than BOC

For low threat environments that allow continuous observation by CAS aircrew, BOT can be more expeditious due to high aircrew SA

Unguided weapons are much more accurate when employed BOT

18
Q

BOC differences

A

When the JTAC determines that desired effects against target can be achieved with ordinance employing on a specified set of coordinates

While no specific level of TLE required, great care must be taken to ensure that the target location is obtained with precision and accuracy required by CC tactical risk

Aircrew will read back from aircraft system

19
Q

BOC advantages

A

JTAC does not need to delay the attack to build the CAs aircrew visual awareness to support tally

More expeditious and safer in nonpermissive environments that make target observation difficult

More expeditious where accurate coordinates can be passed for non moving targets prior to CAs aircraft check in
