Carto 3 Components Flashcards
Location Pad
Device placed under the patient table in its own holder. Generates low amplitude magnetic fields to enable accurate location.

Location Pad Bracket
Holds the location pad.

Orange Fiber Optic Duplex Cable
A cable that relays data from the PIU to the workstation for processing ECG and EGM location data.

DVI to DVI Fiber Optic Cable
Connects the workstation to the remote monitor.

Pinned IC Out Cables
Connects the PIU to the EP recording system.

ECG Out Unit
Recording system ECG connects from the back of the PIU to the recording system ECG.

EP Recording System Pin Block
Stim cables and IC Out connects to the EP recording system via this device.

CARTO 3 System PIU Tower (“Cart”)
A cart that can be used to hold all operating room components of the CARTO 3 System.

Serial Interface Cable
Connects to the RF generator and communicates to the EP recording system and workstation the following: RF data, power, temperature, impedance.

CARTO 3 System Workstation
Computer dedicated to use with the CARTO 3 System. Typically stationed in the observation room. CARTO 3 System software is installed on the workstation. This is where an EP study will be set up to map the heart.

CARTO 3 System Patient Interface Unit (PIU)
The core of the CARTO 3 System. It is located in the procedure room and provides the central connection of the computer system to catheters, cables, amplifier, etc. It also processes real-time location and ECG calculations.

Body Surface (BS) Cable
Transfers the body surface ECG data from the patient to the PIU.

Catheter-PIU Pin Adapter (“Pin Box”)
An adapter enabling connection of standard pin-based catheters to the PIU catheter connection(s).

Power Supply Unit
Supplies electrical power and surge protection to the PIU.

Patch Unit
Contains the sensors that are attached to the six patches on the patient. It connects the current wire from the patch to transfer location and current data. Patches are attached to the patch unit via 2 cables, green or yellow.

Stockert EP RF Generator
Generates radio frequency energy to the catheter for ablation. Monitors catheter tip temperature.

USB Charge Cable
Connects to and powers DVI cable using remote monitor USB port.
