Q

Does the force have to be unbalanced to an object to move, and why?

A

A force does not have to be unbalanced for an object to move because if the object is already moving and it stays at the same speed (it doesn’t accelerate), then it is a balanced force.

Q

What is a reaction force>

A

A reaction force is a reaction to another force that equals it in the opposite direction e.g. if gravity is pulling an object down, the ground provides a reaction force that equals gravity by pushing the object up with the same amount of force. If two opposing forces are balanced the stronger the force will be in the direction the object ACCELERATES (not moves) in.
