Q

problems of caries diagnosis

A
  • carious lesions are difficult to see
  • all caries are different, so no specific method or tool to diagnose all types of caries

Q

Orthodontic separating elastic diagnose carious lesions

A

carious lesions are sometimes in sheltered spaces such as in between teeth which are difficult to view with direct visualisation.
orthodontic separating elastic bands are placed in between teeth (for 4-5 days) which separate the teeth by mm’s, allowing dentists to view the interdental spaces.
