Job Description
A job description or JD is a written narrative that describes the general tasks, or other related duties, and responsibilities of a position.
Economy
An area of the production, distribution and trade, as well as consumption of goods and services by different agents.
Job Outlook
statement that conveys the projected rate of growth or decline in employment in an occupation over the next 10 years;
Job Shadowing
on-the-job learning, career development, and leadership development program.
Internship
the position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, sometimes without pay, in order to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification.
Apprenticeship
an arrangement in which someone learns an art, trade, or job under another
Resume
a document created and used by a person to present their background, skills, and accomplishments.
Chronological Resume
lists your work history in order of date, with the most recent position at the top.
Functional Resume
sometimes called a skills-based resume, places the focus on your skills and areas of expertise, rather than on the details of your work history.
Combination Resume
lists your skills and qualifications first.
Targeted Resume
written to highlight the skills and experiences relevant to a particular position.
References
a relationship between objects in which one object designates, or acts as a means by which to connect to or link to, another object.
Cover Letter
a letter sent with, and explaining the contents of, another document or a parcel of goods.
Career Portfolio
used to plan, organize and document education, work samples and skills.
Salary
a form of payment from an employer to an employee, which may be specified in an employment contract.
