HACEK organisms
H- Haemophilus aphrophilus
A- Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans
C- Cardiobacterium hominis
E- Eikenella corrodens
K- Kingella Kingae

These grow poorly on standard media and are common causes of blood culture (-) infective endocarditis. S epidermidus causes endocarditis with prosthetic valves.
