Actions of Allium Cepa
hypoglycemic, antimicrobial, carminative, decreased platelet aggregation
Indications of Allium Cepa
Internal: UTI, HDL, platelet agg, inflam conditions.
External: dermatophytosis, onychomycosis, warts, vaginitis, otitis media.
Allium Cepa CI
hypothyroidism: goitrogenic with raw, bleeding d/o, anticoag therapy, hypoglycemia
Allium cepa interactions
hypericum
Actions of Allium Sativum (garlic)
antimicrobial, immune support, spares lactobacillus, synergist with ABX med
Indications of Allium Sativum
URIs, parasites, HDL, intermittent claudication, mild HTN
Allium Sativum CI
potentiates anticoagulants
Actions of Capsicum Frutescans (Cayenne)
circulatory and GI stimulant, decreases TG’s, CHL, LDL:HDL, platelet aggregation, anodyne, anti-neuralgic, anti-pruritic.
MOA of Capsicum
stimulates excessive production of substance P by peripheral neurons to the point of depletion
Indications Capsicum
Internal: hyper-coagulation, atherosclerosis, hypochlorhydria, maldigestion, constipation, URI, circulatory stimulant.
External: osteoarthritis, RA, DM neuropathy, pruritis
Capsicum side effects
generally safe, can cause nausea. long term use in large doses can promote gastric CA
Capsicum CI
active, PUD, gastritis, hyperchlorhydria, GERD, biliary obstruction, any application to eyes, PREGNANCY
Capsicum interactions
can pot anticoagulants
