Collection of pus surrounded by granuloma tissue. Usually due to aspiration pneumonia. Lung abscess can burst into pleural cavity and causes sudden onset of chest pain

hamartoma, fibroma, lipoma, neural tumours 10% can become malignant
pneumothorax
recurrence, persistance or after one episode if its bad

bronchogenic cysts
present from birth, cause symptoms by pressing on the trachea or oesophagus
