a patient who is unresponsive and not breathing properly.

what do you do when someone is in cardiac arrest.

A
  1. shout for help
  2. ask for a defibrillator and note the time
  3. ABC
  4. A - airways = head tilt if no spinal injury and then jaw thrust or chin lift
  5. B - breathing = look and listen for breathing for no more than 10 secons.
  6. C - chest = place heel on lower half of sternum and interlcok other hand on top and arms straight aim to go 5-6 cm deep. 30:2 rescue breaths.

do no interrupt compressions for more than 10 seconds.

continue until defribillaotro arrives.

A
  1. on upper right half of sternum and below the clavicle

2. just below and left of the nipple.
