what defines as a pateint who’s in cardiac arrest
A
a patient who is unresponsive and not breathing properly.
manual pulse is not accurate and not recommended

what do you do when someone is in cardiac arrest.
A
- shout for help
- ask for a defibrillator and note the time
- ABC
- A - airways = head tilt if no spinal injury and then jaw thrust or chin lift
- B - breathing = look and listen for breathing for no more than 10 secons.
- C - chest = place heel on lower half of sternum and interlcok other hand on top and arms straight aim to go 5-6 cm deep. 30:2 rescue breaths.
do no interrupt compressions for more than 10 seconds.
continue until defribillaotro arrives.

where do you place the defibrillator?
A
- on upper right half of sternum and below the clavicle
2. just below and left of the nipple.
