Sinus Bradycardia
Sinus Tachycardia
Normal Sinus Rhythm
60-100bpm
- comes from the SA node (sinoatrial node) n
- heart has the ability to contract
- P-wave present= normal sinus rhythm
- heart has the ability to contract even if SA node is not functioning but the lower you go along the heart conduction system, the less able it is to contract as effectively or quickly
Sinus Bradycardia
- <60bpm
- clinical presentation will be primary diagnosis = slow HR but rhythm is regular (sinus)
Sinus Bradycardia Signs and Symptoms
- dizziness, lightheaded
- chest pain
- poor circulation, edema
- pressure changes, hypotension
Perfusion:
- skin colour in the middle
- cap refill
- peripheral pulses
- blood pressure (switching from hypertension to hypotension)
Sinus Bradycardia Interventions
- Monitor VS
- Fluids
- O2 PRN
- administer atropine
- Hold beta blockers
- pacemaker if unstable
Sinus Tachycardia
> 100bpm
- Heart rate high and fluttering
Sinus Tachycardia
