Q

How many amperes are typically discharged in a defibrillator? Voltage?

A

30 amps
3 milisecond discharge
3000-5000 volts

More sophisticated defibs estimate the impedence and adjust the shock voltage accordingly. Biphasic defibrillators shcok the heart through two directions rather than one using a lower peak current and lower energy level
