what is the difference between typical and atypical angina
A
- people with typical angina have:
- constricting discomfort in the front of the chest, neck, shoulders, jaw or arms
- precipitated by physical exertion
- relieved by rest or GTN in about five minutes
- people with atypical angina have two of the above pain features.

A
control CVD risk factors
GTN and CCBs
stenting may be required for refractory spasm

investigations for angina
A
- 12 lead ecg
- troponins
- FBC - exclude anaemia
- TFTs - hyperthyroidism increases work of heart and hypothyroidism is associated with high cholesterol
