raised JVP, hypotension, muffled heart sounds (Becks triad)

A
electrical alternans (alternating sizes of QRS complexes with each beat)

what is dresslers syndrome?
A
post-MI syndrome
localised immune response causing pericarditis

triad seen in Dresslers syndrome and what is heard on auscultation
A
pericarditis
pleuritic chest pain
low grade fever
pericardial rub on auscultation

investigations and management of Dressler’s syndrome
A
inv:
- ECG- global ST elevation and T wave inversion
- raised ESR/CRP
Tx:
- NSAIDs
- can use steroids also
- pericardiocentesis if severe
