What was the aim for Carding Mill Valley?
A
To investigate the changes downstream in the river at Carding Mill Valley.

Why did we choose to investigate the river at Carding Mill?
A
- It shows great changes downstream over a 3 km distance.
- It can be readily accessed by the footpath which follows the course of the river.
- It is a safe river to investigate. It is not too deep.

What were the objectives whilst in Carding Mill Valley?
A
- To measure the width of the river
- To measure the depth of the river
- To measure the velocity of the river

What were the risks during the investigation at Carding Mill Valley?
A
- Slips, trips and falls
- Issues with wildlife animals
- Medical issues eg asthma
- Traffic accidents
- Weather issues eg. Sunburn or exposure.

How did we manage the risks whilst in Carding Mill Valley?
A
- Wear sturdy footwear and watch where you are walking.
- Check the weather forecast beforehand and be equipped with sun screen layers or clothing and waterproofs
- Keep away from animals
- Have medication eg inhalers, epi pens
- keep aware of all traffic, especially when near the coach park

Using what type of sampling did we collect our data?
A
Stratified - involves selecting specific location to collect data. This may be when you think a change might occur. It does lead to bias, but it also means that specific and likely important data can be collected.
