member of the ‘Sacred College’,
who support the Pope,
pledge to be aviable to him at any time,
senior leaders,
advisors of the Pope
What is the Sacred College?
- the body of all Cardinals chosen by the Pope.

Are the degrees important?
No, unless during processions for great occasions.
What is the skull-cap that they wear called?
A zucchetto
What is the four-cornered hat with a tassel called?
A biretta.
Why are their robes coloured crimson?
It represents the colour of blood, to symbolise their commitment to defend the Church until their death.
Under what age do you have to be to participate in electing a new pope?
Not above 80 years old
