Cardiac Nursing Assessment Flashcards
Children with congenital heart disease may have
very specific nursing requirements.
Such as….
- Oxygen
- ECG
- Pre and post ductal saturations
- Inotropes
- Feeding
- Diuretics
How to calculate Cardiac Output
HR X SV = CO
- Cardiac output is the volume pumped out from the
left ventricle over 1 minute - Stroke volume is the volume of blood pumped out of the
left ventricle in one beat - Heart rate is how many beats per minute occur.
When may you get out of a norm heart rhythm/ readings
- Congenital heart disease
- Acquired heart disease
- Inherited heart disease
- Arrhythmias
- Valve disease
- Atherosclerosis
