Q

Cardiac excitation contraction coupling process

A
  • depolarisation causes opening of voltage gated Ca2+ channels
  • Releases Ca2+ (comes from outside of cell)
  • Ca2+ binds to binding site on sarcoplasmic release channel
  • Ca2+ is pumped back into the store
  • once the store is full it is pumped out of the cell
