Cardiac Muscle Flashcards
1
Q
What happens when Ca2+ is removed from cardiac muscles?
A
Zero force is produced
2
Q
Cardiac excitation contraction coupling process
A
- depolarisation causes opening of voltage gated Ca2+ channels
- Releases Ca2+ (comes from outside of cell)
- Ca2+ binds to binding site on sarcoplasmic release channel
- Ca2+ is pumped back into the store
- once the store is full it is pumped out of the cell
