1-1.5 in dogs and 1-1.4 in cats is normal
Higher than the normal values indicates left atrial enlargement

A
- right parasternal long axis view
- right parasternal short axis view (mushroom, fish mouth and aortic views)

A
Normal = 3-5mm
Severe = 7-10mm
