Q

How is cardiac muscle different from skeletal muscle?

A
  1. Involuntary control
  2. Myocytes are smaller
  3. There are 1-2 centrally located nuclei (not 100)
  4. Cardiac cells bifurcate, whereas skeletal cells only branch when they are sick
  5. Cardiac tissue is very vascularized
  6. Cardiac muscle has a lot of mitochondria
  7. Cardiac cells have a lot of myogobin
  8. Cardiac cells have a lot of lipid droplets
  9. MB- creatine kinase and cTnl
  10. Intercalated discs
