First treatment for symptomatic Bradycardia
12 lead
IV Access titrate SBP>90-100
Airway adjuncts as needed
Symptomatic bradycardia consists of
SBP < 90
Pulse < 50
Atropine dose for symptomatic bradycardia:
First dose
Second dose
Max dose
First dose 0.5 mg Second dose (If pacing not available) 0.5-1.0 mg every 3-5 min 3 mg max total dose
Treatment for symptomatic type II 2nd degree and 3rd degree heart block
Implement transcutaneous pacing immediately at 80 bpm
Preferred sedation medication and dose for pacing
Midazolam (Versed)
1-6 mg IV/IO
2 mg IM/IN may repeat 2 times every 5 minutes
