• if unresponsive and breathing normally?
• call 999 and ask for ambulance
• 30 chest compressions
• 2 rescue breaths
• continue CPR 30:2
• As soon as automated external defib arrives switch it on and follow instructions

• assess severity
• severe
  *airway obstruction (ineffective cough)
  *If unconscious start CPR
  *concious 5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts
• mild
  *airway obstruction(effective cough)
• encourage cough
• continue to check for detoriation to ineffective cough or until obstruction relieved
