Tracings
- Arabic and Roman numerals at the bottom of the card.
- Point to the other headings existing for the bibliographic record.
Shelflist Card
Kept separately from the other cards.
Records additional information:
- How many copies are held
- Status of each copy (damaged)

Cards sorted alphabetically by name of authors/editors of the entries.
- Title Catalogue
Cards sorted alphabetically by titles of the entries.
- Dictionary Catalogue
Most popular type, all entries (author, title, series, subjects, etc.) are sorted in a single alphabetical order.
- Keyword Catalogue
A subject catalogue arranged alphabetically based on keywords.
- Systematic/Classified Catalogue
Arranged by a subject-based system. Author and title heading entries co-exist with subject-based entries which usually have numerical headings, representing a specific subdivision of a subject.
Shelflist Catalogue
Entries sorted by their shelving order.
