Card 1 Flashcards
Definition of light
Light is magnetic radiation where wavelength falls in a range of 400 to 700nm
Definition Principal axis and Principal focus of the lens
Principal axis: an imaginary line passing through the centers of two spheres of spherical that is a part.
Principal Focus: The point of axis of lens which parallel rays of light converge or diverge after refracted or reflected.
Types of aberration.Explain.
Chromatic aberration: The focusing of light of different colours at different location.
Spherical aberration: The blurring image due to rays that transverse a lens far from its optic
Definition of optical spectrum
Emission spectra: spectrum of radiation emitted by an object which is acting as a source of radiation
-Line spectrum;Produced by atoms which are so far apart that they are not interscting with each other
-Band spectrum:composed of separate groups of lines
-Continuous spectrum;produced by hot solid and liquid and by high density gases such as sun
Absorption spectra : Spectrum of radiation transmitted by a substances which absorbed some of radiation incident.
Beer’s Law
6=y(π)*C
Definition and formula of Malu’s law
I2=I1 cos^2 theta
I2,I1-intensity of light transmitted
theta-angle between preferred direction of 2 polarizer
