occur when mets are present in the liver and release serotonin

A
- flushing-> often the earliest symptom
- diarrhoea
- bronchospasm
- hypotension
- right heart valvular stenosis
- pellagra: dementia, diarrhoea, dermatitis

what is the management of carcinoid tumours?
A
somatostatin analogues e.g. octreotide
diarrhoea: cyproheptadine may help
