- No person may act or attempt to act as a crew member of a civil aircraft:
1) within 8 hours after the consumption of any alcoholic beverage.
2) while under the influence of alcohol
3) while using any drug that affects the person’s faculties in any way contrary to safety.
Prohibition on use of psychoactive subtances, including NARCOTICS, DRUGS or ALCOHOL:
1) act or attempt to act
2) UP TO 8 HOURS BEFORE or IMMEDIATELY AFTER acting or attempting to act
SUBMIT TO A TEST to indicate the presence of alcohol or narcotic drug in the blood
- SHALL FURNISH THE AUTHORITY the RESULTS of each blood test taken up to 8 hours bef or imm aft acting or attempting to act as a crew member.
4) any test information provided to the authority may be used as evidence in any legal proceeding.
Alcohol or drugs
No boarding or serving any person who appears to be intoxicated or who is under the influence of drugs.
Required Crew Member Equipment
- Flashlight
- each aircraft: 1 copy of current cabin crew safety manual
Each cabin crew: safety directive/procedure
Securing of Items of mass in PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
- each ITEM OF MASS in the passenger cabin is properly secured to prevent it from becoming a hazard
- Each PASSENGER SERVING CART Is secured in its stowed position.
Locking of flight deck compartment door:
1) locked at all times,
except:
- to accomplish approved operations
- or provide emergency evacuation.
no person may operate unless the flight deck compartment doors is closed and locked:
- FOLLOWING AN EMBARKATION
- DISEMBARKATION
- WHEN NECESSARY TO PERMIT ACCESS AND EGRESS BY AUTHORIZED PERSONS.
Admission to the flight deck:
No person may admit any person to the flight deck unless the person being admitted is:
1) An operating crew member
2) A representative of the authority responsible for certification, licensing or inspection.
3) permited by and carried out in accordance with the instructions contained in the operations manual.
Admission of inspector to the Flight Deck:
An inspector from the Authority presents
INSPECTOR CREDENTIAL FORM to the PIC
Duties during critical phases of flight:
1) No flight crew member may perform any duties
EXCEPT: those REQUIRED for the safe operation of the aircraft.
2) No flight crew member may ENGAGE in any activity which would distract or interfere with the performance of their assigned duties.
Flight crew member at duty stations:
1) shall REMAIN at their assigned duty station during TAKE OFF, LANDING, CRITICAL PHASES of flight.
2) shall remain during all phases of flight UNLESS:
💋 ABSENCE is necessary in connection with the operation
💋 taking a REST PERIOD, a qualified relief officer replaces him/ her
At the DUTY STATION
Flight crew member: USE OF SEATBELT and SAFETY HARNESS
1) EACH Flight crew member, shall have His or her seatbelt fastened during TAKE OFF and LANDING and all other times.
2) SAFETY HARNESS,
any flight crew member occupying pilot seat-fastened.
ALL OTHER flight crew member- fastened. Unless: shoulder straps interferes- seatbelt MUST remain
3) each flight crew member, station equipped shoulder harness- FASTENED, except: unable to perform duties.
4) each occupant of a seat equipped combined SAFETY BELT and SHOULDER HARNESS- properly secured- able to properly perform assigned duties.
5) each UNOCCUPIED SEAT- safety belt and shoulder harness- properly secured SO AS:
- not interfere with crew members
- rapid egress of occupant during emergency
Unacceptable conduct:
1) no person may interfere with a cabin crew
2) each passenger shall fasten his or seat belt and keep it fastened
3) NO PERSON may act or omit to act in a manner as to endanger the aircraft, person, property therein
4) secrete him or herself nor secrete cargo on board the a/c
5) smoke while smoking sign is on
6) smoke in lavatory
7) tamper with, disable, Destroy any smoke detector installed in any airplane lavatory.
Refueling with passengers on board:
1) no refueling when pax are EMBARKING, on board, DISEMBARKING.
no refueling when pax are EMBARKING, on board, DISEMBARKING, UNLESS:
1) an airplane is properly attended by qualified personnel. READY TO INITIATE AND DIRECT AN EVACUATION.
2) Two way communication is maintained between the ground crew and qualified personnel on board.
