Capter 5 , Lesson 2/3 Flashcards
Equator
An imaginary line going around the middle of the earth
Convection
The transfer of heat through the moment of gas or liquid
Latitude
A measure of how far north or south something is from the equator. You can describe objects location on earth is in terms of its latitude and longitude
Global winds
A winds that blows in a predictable direction. Global wins Loeb differences in air pressure between earths poles in the equator
Trade winds
Winds that blow between 30° North latitude and 30° S. latitude. Sailors rely on tradewinds to transport items for sale around the globe
Climate
The average weather patterns of a region. Climate includes average temperature, rainfall, humidity, and wind conditions.
Condensation
The process in which matter changes state form gas to liquid. When water vapor is in the air it condensates it can now dew it on cool Surfaces
Current
An ongoing movement in one direction. In the ocean current is a large stream of water that flows through the ocean. Electrical current describes the flow of charge particles through wire.
Oscillation
Movement back-and-forth. Shifting Windpatterns can lead to an Oscillation and weather conditions.
Equator
An imaginary line that goes around the middle of the earth
ENSO
The Changing of wind patterns
Labor currents
A cold ocean currents flowing south along the harbor Coast through Davis straight to the grand thanks word divides, the East Branch joining the North Atlantic current and the Westbranch flowing into the goal of Saint Lawrence.
Sphere
Any rounded body approximately of this form a globular mass
