How to capitalize quotations

A

*Capitalize the 1st letter of a direct quotation that’s a complete sentence
*If the quotation is interrupted (by explanatory words) like ‘she said’, the 2nd part of the quotation won’t be capitalized
*If the 2nd part is not part of the 1st quotation, put a full stop after the interruption and start the 2nd part with capital letter
*Indirect speech/quotation do not have quotation marks or capital letter.
*Note that for a direct quotation that isn’t interrupted, the full stop comes before the quotation mark.
